YACHTING COURSE

Come with us to the yachting course to obtain the captain B licence issued by the Croatian Ministry based on a completed oral examination of the Croatian captain. The captain licence entitles a recreational craft to be driven up 30 tonnes in territorial waters (12 nautical miles from the coast and adjacent islands). The captain’s licence shall include a licence to operate a marine radio station. The validity of the captain’s licence shall not be limited in time. The yachting course is also suitable for beginners. 

The subject of the course is theoretical training — navigation, rules for the prevention of collisions at sea, navigation law, meteorology, operation of the radio station, and electronic instruments on board the boat. The theory is supported by a week’s stay on our sailboat BENETEAU OCEANIS 351, with which you will take a cruise from Marina Vlaška (on the island of Brač in the city of Milna) to Drvenik Veli, Žirje, Šibenik (where the test takes place), Skradin, Primošten, Rogač (the island of Šolta) and back to Milna. During the voyage, you can apply your theoretical knowledge and learn all the practical habits needed to run a sailboat.

The price shall include the cost of the boat and the instructor, an online manual with all necessary information, fuel, registration, and final cleaning of the boat. A minimum of 4 crew members (excl. instructor) and a maximum of 6 crew members (excl. instructor) are required to conduct the course. Other conditions may be agreed upon, but the price will then be adapted to the crew composition.

The examination of the Croatian captain shall be conducted in English, or Croatian (or in all two languages at the same time). Two photographs of approximately 3 x 2,5 cm are required for the issue of a captain’s licence. The test is not a condition for taking part in a voyage.
